Huge Rise in Support for Welsh Independence

"On Thursday 18th September people in Scotland will vote on whether Scotland should stay part of the United Kingdom, or whether they become an independent country.  

 With this in mind, we turn our attention to Wales to see if the Welsh population have been inspired by the Scottish referendum to reconsider the state of their independence.
The BBC conducted a poll in February showing that 5% of Welsh voters were in favour of independence. However, according to a more recent YouGov survey for ITV Wales, 17% of people support Welsh independence.

In order to find out the current opinion in Wales, we have just asked 1000 Welsh people whether they think Wales should be independent?

The results show that although 71.1% of people don’t think that independence is the right choice for Wales, a much higher 28.9% are pro Welsh independence.
57% of the respondents who provided us with answers were male, and 43% of responses came from females.

 There was an even gender split between for and against responses. 28.7% of males and 29.1% of females are for Welsh independence, and 71.3% of males and 70.9% of females are against it.
We used Google Consumer Surveys to gather our responses. As you can see below, a wide variety of age groups in Wales provided us with their opinions.

55-64     20.7%        79.3%
65+        19.4%        80.6%

The highest number of people for Welsh independence was in people aged between 18 and 24, however the highest percentage of people against independence was aged 65 and over. It would appear that the new generation of Welsh voters support the idea of an independent Wales."

Remember folks. its at this level without anyone pushing for it. this is just people supporting welsh independence off their own back. Many of the no's wouldn't of even considered welsh independence before so no would obviously be the natural answer. Just imagine the support once a campaign starts going. unionists have always branded "theres no appetite in wales for independence" "only 5% support independence" bla bla bla. Recent polls have blown that out of the water. also these people have also seen the negative onslaught we have gone through up here and it doesn't seem to have put them off. Exciting times for wales as well as scotland :)

Wales has benefited greatly from devolution but because of the medias inability to report anything positive, the Welsh public has been misled on what devolution has done for them. Why on earth isn't the media telling the Welsh people how much they benefit from devolution? Did you know Wales had around 3 new hospitals in 30 years and 4 new schools before devolution? Since devolution Wales had to build 18 new hospitals and 22 new schools because of English neglect. Did you know exports have gone up over 200% since devolution because London wasn't even trying to sell Wales abroad? This alone is solid proof that the interests of Wales is served far better by the Welsh people in the Welsh parliament. It would be madness for wales to give back powers. I honestly believe that there are 2 types of people that want to end devolution. The crazy unionist who wouldn't support it regardless of its achievements. He/she would turn Wales into an English county if they could....

Wales is not a bloody principality and hasn't been since 1536,

Many welsh people seem to have this obsession with putting wales down at every opportunity. Why they do this i dont know but one term such people cling on to is "wales is a PRINCIPALITY" it often comes with "its not a real country anyway" . Now where is the proof of this? can they direct me to the pages on the welsh government website or uk government website or any other to prove to me that wales "isn't a country but only a principality" ? Some Random economic facts about wales

Unionists and the media will tell you all the time that wales needs london and Wales couldn't afford independence. They base this on gdp and fva figures along with the tax raised in Wales compared to money spent on wales. All the figures are pointless and not a true reflection of the welsh economy. Independent Wales would receive the benefits from many of its resources currently being exploited by England for where Wales receives little benefit. Also the taxes raised by welsh company's go direct to London and are ignored when they say wales receives more than it raises in taxes. Most people wont know these facts. Iv found a lot out by just searching the web, freedom of information requests and simple phone calls. The truth is available folks.Don't expect the truth off the media or union politicians. If your opinions are based on the media, unionist politicians, gdp,gva or tax figures that come out of London then I'm afraid your opinion is wrong and clouded. Wale...
